Event 46 Champion Gabe Ramos and Summer
Event 46 Champion Gabe Ramos and His Dog Summer

There were 45 entries in Event #46, $1,100 Limit Omaha 8, and after two days of play and a back-and-forth heads-up battle that lasted more than three-and-a-half hours, Gabe Ramos defeated Kristan Lord to win the title, his 10th Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood trophy, and $16,930.

Ramos had his dog Summer by his side the entire time, and she posed with him in his winner’s photo. Regulars might be used to seeing Ramos with two dogs, but his dog Ozy died not that long ago, which is why Ramos hasn’t played many tournaments for the first few months of 2026.

After the victory, Ramos dedicated his win to Ozy.

As mentioned above, this is the 10th trophy for Ramos, who started the series tied with Ryan Hoenig on the all-time leaderboard. Yesterday, Hoenig won his 10th, and today Ramos matched him, and they are once again tied for seventh place.

Event 46: Here’s One You Probably Haven’t Seen — Did Both Players Bluff the River?

Level 23:  40,000/80,000 Limits

Gabe Ramos and Kristan Lord Both Bluff the River

Gabe Ramos limped for 40,000, Kristan Lord raised from the big blind to 80,000, and Ramos three-bet it to 120,000. Lord called.

The flop came Kc10s6d, Lord bet 40,000, and Ramos called.

The turn card was the 4d, Lord bet 80,000, and Ramos called.

The river card was the 10d, and this is where there seemed to have been some confusion.

As best as we could tell, Ramos thought Lord had checked, but he didn’t. Ramos then bet 80,000, but Lord was facing the board (thinking it was his turn), and didn’t see Ramos’s bet.

Then Lord bet 80,000 himself, thinking he was still first to act, but Ramos saw it as a call of his bet. Ramos announced his hand as “Ace high,” and waited for Lord to show his cards. But Lord thought Ramos was folding, and just announcing his hand. So Lord didn’t show his cards right away.

It took a bit of time to figure out what happened, but both players ended up showing their cards.

Kristan Lord:  AsJs8d4c  (pair of fours)
Gabe Ramos:  AcJc9s2h  (ace high)

It was definitely confusing, but with bottom pair and ace high, it appears that both players thought that they were bluffing the river. But the way the action played out, it would probably be officially reported as Lord checked, Ramos bet 80,000, and Lord called.

And with that bottom pair of fours, Lord won a massive pot worth 640,000 — more than 47% of all the chips in play.

Kristan Lord raised to 60,000, and Gabe Ramos called from the big blind.

Both players checked to the turn on a board of KdJs5h4s, Ramos bet 60,000, and Lord called.

The river card was the 10d, Ramos checked, Lord bet 60,000, and Ramos check-raised to 120,000. Lord called, and Ramos snap-folded to forfeit the pot. Lord took the lead.

Kristan Lord  –  710,000  (12 BB)
Gabe Ramos  –  640,000  (11 BB)

Shortly after that, they put in 90,000 each to see a flop of KsQc8s. Ramos bet 30,000, and Lord called.

The turn card was the As, Ramos checked, Lord bet 60,000, and Ramos called. The river card paired the board with the 8d, and both players checked.

Kristan Lord:  JsJd10d9s  (ace-high straight)
Gabe Ramos:  mucked

Ramos announced that he had “aces and queens,” but Lord showed his straight to win the pot and increase his lead.
