Event 1 Flight D: Guarantee Met

$360 Ultimate Re-Entry
$500,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 3: 100/200 with a 200 ante
Flight D Entries: 239

Well before the first break of Flight D, entry number 239 hit the registration desk to push the combined total to 1,667. The prize pool is not $500,100 but it will go much higher with registration open until 11:45pm and four more flights to go.

Getting to $1,000,000 should be cake with hitting 4,000 entries a very real possibility. It is sure to be one of the biggest in Florida poker history by the time registration closes late Sunday evening.

Event 1 Flight C: Registration Closed with 528 Entries

Level 13: 1,000/2,000 with a 2,000 ante
Flight C Entries: 528

All the entry slips have been counted and registration is now closed for the third of eight flights in the Ultimate Re-Entry. The 528 entries attracted today pushed the combined total to 1,428 to leave the tournament only 239 shy of the $500,000 Guarantee.

They will continue playing this evening until only 52 players remain. Those players will be in the money and moving on to Day 2 on Monday.

Todd Breyfogle

Level 12 is here and that means time is running short for players to get in the third flight of the Ultimate Re-Entry. There are 522 entries showing on the clock to leave it only 245 away from hitting the $500,000 Guarantee, it will get there soon in Flight D.

Old SHRP friend Todd Breyfogle is making his return to our room for the first time in two years. He went deep in our inaugural Ultimate Re-Entry event during the 2017 Lucky Hearts Poker Open and closed out his series with a runner-up finish in the series-closing $150 tournament.

Event 1 Flight D: Hitting the Mark

$360 Ultimate Re-Entry
$500,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 1: 100/100

Flight D of the Ultimate Re-Entry event is underway in the Event Center and the tournament is very close to hitting its $500,000 Guarantee. With registration still open in Flight C, it will require some simple math between to the two to track the countdown.

There are more than 500 entries in Flight C to leave the tournament less than 300 from the mark.

Event 1 is a $360 best-stack-forward tournament which allows players to enter any and all the flights they wish. If they advance more than one stack, they will play their biggest on Day 2 and receive a $2,500 multi-stack payout for their smaller stacks. We have five players who already accomplished that feat including chip leader Frankie Flowers.

Players start their day with a 15,000 stack and 30-minute levels. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 13 at 11:45pm. Each starting flight will play down to the last 10% of the field, rounding down, and all those players will be in the money as they move on to Day 2 on Monday.

It will be a busy day in the Event Center as we cruise towards the first big guarantee of the series.

  • $500,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool
  • Players begin with 15,000 in chips and 30-minute levels
  • Single ante will be paid from the big blind for the entire table
  • Late registration/re-entry available until start of Level 13
  • 10% of each flight’s field, rounded down, will advance to Day 2
  • All Day 2 players will be in the money
  • Players surviving more than one Day 1 flight will receive a $2,500 cash payout for each lesser multiple chip stack

Tobin Banks

The second break is complete and Flight C players are back in their seats. They have four more levels over two hours, plus the break, to run up a stack or re-enter before registration closes at 5:45pm.

Tobin Banks is the new leader of the pack with his 141,400 good enough for the spot. He’s looking for his second career SHRP cash and this would be a good one to make some big money.

Event 1 Flight C: Frankie Flowers and Jason Young Shooting for Three

$360 Ultimate Re-Entry
$500,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 8: 300/600 with a 600 ante
Flight C Entries: 468

Frankie Flowers

We mentioned Frankie Flowers and Jason Young earlier, two of the five players who cashed in both Flights A and B. Both are back today trying for a third bag and both recently hit a spade flush to stick around.

Young was down to only 1,700 after losing AxQx to Ax5x and called all in on the next hand. He was behind this time with As3s against Ah9d, flopped a flush draw and it hit on the turn as the board ran out KsQh5s6sAc. A small double so he still has some work to do.

Flowers was a late entry and decided to gamble it up. He was all in for 15,100 holding 8s7s and in trouble against AsAh. The Jd6s2s gave him the spade flush draw, he blanked the 2h, and cracked aces on the Ts river to double to 31,700.

Mark “Bud” Wiser

Flight C players returned from their first break and the entry count ticked over 400 soon after. It’s unlikely it will hit 767 before registration closes at 5:45pm, the number to push the prize pool over the guarantee, but it will get there not long after Flight D starts at 5pm.

SHRP regular Mark “Bud” Wiser is your early leader and he’s up to 68,000 from his 15,000 starting stack after four levels. Matthew Zarcadoolas sits in the second spot with 56,000 with a lot of players not far behind.

Michael Damiani

Flight C pulled in another 150 entrants over the first hour and we have a steady line of players coming into the Event Center to grab their seat. We had 900 entries for the first two flights and we will flirt with 1,000 between the two today.

Two friends of SHRP are back in action, they together and will go home together. Husband and wife players Michael and Jorie Damiani both have success in our events including Jorie with a SHRPO Escalator win in 2013.

We’re not sure, but this might be one of the first time the two of them played in the same event. Jorie gave birth to their first child earlier in 2018 and he has been their focus.
