Jill Fiorentino

Flight C players returned from break and the entry count jumped over 300 while they were gone. It climbed further after the return and we are putting up another big number.

We have a few growing stacks in the room but Jill Fiorentino has the biggest with 110,000 from her 20,000 starting stack after two hours. That’s a fine start to her day and she’s in good position for a late run.

Michael Cohen

Flight C is nearing its first break of the day and they are close to topping 300 entries. It should easily pass yesterday’s two big flights and they will only get bigger over the weekend.

Michael Cohen is one of the early entrants with a nice track record in big SHRP events. He made two Championship final tables in 2017, the Main Events at WPTDeepStacks Tampa and Seminole Immokalee Poker Challenge, and followed his WPTDS second place finish with another runner-up this past June.

Marc Bronstein

There were 39 players that made it through the second starting flight and Marc Bronstein went on a heater in the last level of the day to finish with both the Day 1B chip lead and overtake Carlo Rodriguez for the overall chip lead.

Bronstein finished Day 1B with 434,500, which puts a little distance between Bronstein and the 370,000 that Rodriguez finished the first flight with. Keith Suckno was the only other player from Day 1B to finish with over 300,000. He finished with 303,000 in chips

Mike Beasley, Derek Bowers, Staffan Lind and Haim Toorgeman were among the notables who bagged in this flight. Complete chip counts will be posted shortly.

Mike Beasley

There is about 15,000 in the pot on the turn with the board reading 9h8s6hKc.

The player in the big blind is first to act and asks to see how much Mike Beasley has remaining. Beasley moves his hands and allows the big blind to see his chips.

The big blind bets 5,500, Beasley moves all in for about 17,500, a third player in middle position folds and the big blind takes under a minute before showing  AhAd and sends them into the muck.

“I don’t want to pay off your set,” says the big blind.

Beasley then immediately flashes the Td.

“If you had ten-seven, that’s good too,” says the big blind.

“I did not have that. I had pocket tens,” says Beasley.

Mike Beasley – 38,000
