2018 Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, Florida Event 14 $1,650 Purple Chip Bounty No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry) $100,000 Guaranteed Entries: 153 Prize Pool: $153,000 Bounty Prize Pool: $76,500 November 25-26, 2018
The $1,650 Purple Chip Bounty No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry) re-started Day 2 at 2:00 PM with twelve players and was completed within two and a half hours. The bust outs were fast and furious including a double knock out by the eventual winner Peter Mancini. Mancini scored two bounties on that hand and wound up collecting nine altogether.
The day started with Aleksandr Gofman as chip leader, who parlayed his big stack into a fourth place finish worth $9,653. Immediately after Gofman’s elimination, Peter Mancini, Michael Stashin, and Pablo Mariz agreed to a deal.
As the chip leader when the deal was agreed upon, the 63 year old was declared the winner. Mancini is a lawyer for disability cases living in Ontario, Canada. He came all the way down to Florida to play this Rock’N’Roll Poker Open.
“This is an awesome property. This is probably the toughest field that I’ve played against in the last two years. The tournament was well structured. Playing with pros was quite a challenge but I learned a lot”
Even at the final table Mancini had to get through two WSOP Bracelet winners to victory. He ended up chopping with one of them, 2017 Millionaire Maker champion Pablo Mariz.
When asked how Day 1 went Mancini had this to say, “The day went quite well for me yesterday, I had good luck.. catching runner-runner at one point to stay in the tournament.”
Day 2 however wasn’t as smooth for the champion. “Earlier in the day I lost pocket kings to pocket aces, I thought I was going to make an early exit but I was able to continue all the way to the chop.”
Mancini takes home $31,093 for his victory as well as the RRPO trophy.
Final table results:
1st: Peter Mancini – $31,093 + trophy 2nd: Michael Stashin – $29,039 3rd: Pablo Mariz – $23,385 4th: Alexandr Gofman – $9,563 5th: Paula Alibrandi – $7,382 6th: Brian Hastings – $6,120 7th: Myles German – $5,317 8th: Daniel Pearlman – $4,774 9th: David Levi – $4,113
