As you’d expect with a turbo event, the action continues to move pretty fast, and the field is already down to 19 players, with an average chip count around 203,000 (13 big blinds).
BCP pro Ralph Massey was the most recent elimination, getting his short stack all in with , but running right into another player’s . Massey’s hand never caught up, and he was eliminated in 20th place.

Eric Piderit leads the way with 174,5000 chips and then two players from last night’s Event 11 final table are in the mix as Nahra Habib has 150.000 and Jorge Gomez sits at 134,000.

Registration is now closed in Event 14. 270 entries are on the board for our turbo grinders tonight. 90 players remain in the sprint for the Event 14 title including Jermaine Gerlin, Allen Bieler and Michael Laake.

Our second major tournament of the day will be a quick one. Event 14 is a $350 buy-in Turbo tournament with a $50,000 guarantee that will play down in a hurry.
Players sit with 15,000 stacks and have 15-minute levels from start to finish. Late registration is available until 6:15 but only one re-entry is available to players if they bust out.
The fast structure and single re-entry will keep the field smaller, they might be done before the 11 players remaining in Event 12 find their champion.

2015 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown $1,100 No Limit Hold’em Survivor (Re-Entry)

While Day 1C of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship was playing in the rest of the ballroom, an interesting tournament was on the schedule for those with the day off while waiting for Day 2. The $1,100 buy-in tournament was a No Limit Hold’em event where the prize money was split evenly between the top 10% of the starting field.
An even 60 entrants put up their money setting up the 1-in-10 format to pay out $10,000 to six players. Jose Salazar was declared the champ due to his top stack while receiving the same payout as the rest of those who cashed.
Matt Affleck, Raymond Ruszkowski, Bruce Kramer, Scott Efron, and Arutyun Arutyunyan were among those taking advantage of the off-day event and it paid off for most of them.
The tournament played down quickly and was soon on the big, $10,000 money bubble seven hours into the action. With the brisk pace and big payout jump, they decided to negotiated a save for the 7th place finisher to close out the tournament.
The stacks were compared and Tampa resident Jose Salazar was the lucky winner of the bonus trophy and framed 16×20 print from IMPDI.

Event 14 ($570 8-Hand No Limit Hold’em) has reached a conclusion at the Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open and the winner in a four-way chop was Giovanni Rodriguez from Miami, Florida. He took home the largest portion of the prize pool and the Seminole Hard Rock guitar pick trophy. The chop made Pasquale Caiazza the runner-up, and it also gave Herbert Woodberry third place and Yigal Hen fourth place.
“This is probably one of the biggest tournaments that I’ve won, so I felt pretty good. I was a little nervous at the beginning,” said Rodriguez about his tournament victory. “I just play my game, I think my game was good enough, solid. I just don’t make any mistakes and avoid the big pots. This tournament has more action,” said Rodriguez about his approach to the final table and this eight-handed event in general.
When asked about what he likes about playing at the Seminole Hard Rock, here is what Rodriguez had to say, “Good structure, good games, good opponents, good atmosphere. I like the big tournaments so it’s good.” Rodriguez also mentioned that he is going to look at playing some more events during the final week of the tournament series thanks to a larger bankroll.
The final hand of poker to eliminate a player took place when Joe Calderon was all in with on the cutoff and Woodberry had him covered with on the hijack. The final board read and Calderon was eliminated on the hand in fifth place, good for $4,296. The elimination of Calderon was fast on the heels of the exit of Ira Schwartz in sixth place ($3,436). It was after these two quick eliminations that the final four took up the discussion of a chop.
There were 10 players that returned today from the 142 that entered the tournament. The two players that were lost along the way to the final table were John Brody (10th) and Joe Ebelhar (9th). Once the players took their seats at the final table, it was two most notable players in the field that were the next to fall. Matt Stout busted out of the tournament in eighth place and he was followed to the rail by Barry Hutter in seventh place.
