Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Event 19: $250 Holiday Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em September 1, 2014
Entries: 249 Prizepool: $52,290
RECAP What better way to spend the Labor Day Holiday than at a tournament at the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood! There were 249 entrants who did just that today, starting at 12 noon. After about 11 hours, Bob Chow claimed 1st place and $10,628 in a three-way chop. In addition to the prize money, Chow will also take home the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open trophy and custom framed photograph provided by IMPDI.
Second place and $9,771 went to Ramon Watson. Third place and $7,830 went to Steve Marcozzi. Also cashing in this event was two-time WSOP Circuit ring winner John Holley. He finished 25th.
This re-entry event drew 249 entrants on a holiday Monday and paid the top 27 finishers. The total prize pool came to $52,290.
Chow, who plays poker for a living, came down from Chicago for this series and came close to claiming a trophy in the Seniors event, coming back from a 5 to 1 chip deficit, but then had his pocket Kings beat by pocket 9s that turned into quads. Chow finished 2nd in that event for $5,443. He has a few other cashes during this series, but now he’s finally got a win.
Back in 2011, Chow bested a field of 1,615 entrants to win the Horseshoe Hammond Main Event and a WSOP Circuit gold ring. He’s planning to stay through the end of this series and will be back on the felt again tomorrow.
