Lee Farris

There was little action over the first four hands of bubble play then three big hands came around on hand five. Three tables had a player at risk and all had different outcomes. They were played out one at a time to make sure tournament staff had all the info.

On the first, a short stack was all in with Ax7x against Ax7x after both flopped two pair. Neither was freerolling to a flush so that hand was chopped up.

One the next, Raminder Singh was all in for ~165,000 after a Qc5s2s flop. He was in great shape with AhAd against KcKs and his aces held after the 5h turn and Qd river. That hand was a double up.

One the last one, a short stack was all in from early position for 75,000 after a Tc4s3s flop and Lee Farris called on the button with the bigger stack.

Farris: QcTh
Opponent: Ts5s

Farris was ahead with top pair better kicker against top pair, worse kicker, and a spade draw. The 9c turn changed nothing and Farris dragged the pot after the Ac river. That hand burst the bubble.

Lee Farris – 275,000 (46 bb)

After beginning Day 2 with 212,000, Teitelbaum is up to 822,000 going into bubble play.

Event 3: John Gorsuch Knocks One Out During Break

Level 17:  3,000/6,000 with a 6,000 ante
Players Remaining: 76 of 536

John Gorsuch

While the rest of the field was heading on their 10-minute break, John Gorsuch was still in a hand. As relayed by Neil Blumenfield, Gorsuch opened and the big blind player three-bet to ~40,000. Another player in the hand folded, Gorsuch four-bet and the big blind called.

The flop came QcJh4s, the big blind checked and Gorsuch bet 75,000. The big blind player raised all in for 214,000 and Gorsuch called with a slightly bigger stack.

Gorsuch: AsAh
Big Blind: TsTh

The board finished with the Js turn and 9d river to send the big blind player out while Gorsuch happily stacked up to 735,000.
