David Poces

Players continued to enter Flight B as the levels tick down towards the end of the day. We have 280 entries so far to put an even 500 in the game between the two flights.

We also found a new leader in the room through things were pretty fluid. David Poces stacked up nicely over the last few levels and the WSOP ring winner was stacked up to 349,500.

Level 12:  1,000/2,000 with a 2,000 ante
Day 1B Entries:  264 (Total: 484)

Players returned to their seats and set to play the last three levels of the day. The last few alternates will be seated shortly and we’ll close out our evening.

We found the two biggest stacks in the room belong to the same two from most of the day. And they share the same table. Michael Newman leads the way with 295,000 from the 1-seat and Brian Barros has 228,500 in the 7-seat. That’s a lot of pressure on the other players.

More players are pushing up the entry count and they are very close to doubling up the $150,000 guarantee. Players are still entering and they are getting seated as soon as possible.

Michael Newman was one of the earlier starts and it shouldn’t be a surprise that he’s stacking chips again. The former RRPO Champion is up to 215,000 with only a handful of levels remaining today.

With players busting out at a regular rate after dinner, the alternate queue is dropping quickly. The entry count is up to 200 with more coming in to spin up the prize pool.

Sean Shah was among those who grabbed a seat later in the day but he’s already going in the right direction. He already owns a couple of SHRP Hollywood trophies and a lot of big results including two final tables during the 2021 Lucky Hearts Poker Open.

Hector Pacheco dominated the latter portions of Event 1 and held a massive chip lead throughout the final table on his way to capturing the title. He earned more than $60,000 for his win plus a free seat today just for making that final table.
