Championship: James Mackey Eliminated in 8th Place by Justin Liberto; Live-Streamed Final Table is Set

$5,300 SHRPO Championship (Re-Entry)
$3,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 27:  50,000/100,000 with a 100,000 ante

James Mackey
James Mackey

James Mackey raised from the cutoff to 200,000, and Justin Liberto called from the big blind.

The flop came Qh8s4c, Liberto checked, Mackey bet 150,000, and Liberto check-raised to 425,000. Mackey called.

The turn card was the 2s, Liberto bet 675,000, and Mackey thought for a while before he called.

The river card was the Js, and Liberto moved all in. Mackey had about 2.9 million remaining in his stack, and he stopped to think for a bit.

Mackey seemed incredulous as he shook his head and said something along the lines of “If you got there, that’s so sick.”

Mackey paused for another few moments before he called all in for 2,900,000 with 8d8c for a flopped set of eights.

But Liberto turned over Ks10s for a rivered king-high flush to win the pot and eliminate Mackey in eighth place.

Justin Liberto  –  13,625,000  (136 bb)
James Mackey  –  Eliminated in 8th Place  ($122,260)

The final seven players are now bagging and tagging their chips for tomorrow afternoon’s live-streamed final table, scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm. Stay tuned for official chip counts.

Mike Liang  –  Eliminated in 10th Place  ($90,650)

Championship: Andrew Moreno Eliminated in 11th Place by Sergio Aido

$5,300 SHRPO Championship (Re-Entry)

Andrew Moreno
Andrew Moreno

Andrew Moreno called all in under the gun for 25,000, Mike Liang completed the small blind for 100,000, and Sergio Aido raised from the big blind to 325,000. Liang called.

The flop came Ad8d8h, Liang checked, Aido bet 150,000, and Liang folded. Aido took the side pot worth 600,000.

For the main pot, Moreno showed Jc7s, but he’d need to catch something runner-runner to stay alive against Aido’s Ah5s (two pair, aces and eights).

The turn card was the 2s, the river card was the 4h, and Aido won the pot with his two pair to eliminate Moreno in 11th place.

Andrew Moreno  –  Eliminated in 11th Place  ($69,900)

Jim Collopy

Andrew Moreno limped from the small blind and Jim Collopy checked in the big blind.

The flop was 5cAd10s, Moreno bet 100,000, and Collopy called.

The turn was the 3c, Moreno bet 375,000, and Collopy thought for about two minutes before he called.

The river was the Jc, Moreno thought for about a minute before he bet roughly 1,500,000 (leaving behind 25,000), and Collopy called after a few seconds.

Moreno showed 4s3s for a pair of threes, but Collopy tabled 5d3d for fives and threes to win the pot.

Jim Collopy  –  8,550,000  (86 bb)
Andrew Moreno  –  25,000  (< 1 bb)

Sergio Aido
Sergio Aido

Sergio Aido completed the small blind to 100,000, Andrew Moreno raised from the big blind to 375,000, and Aido called.

Both players checked to the river on a board of 9s9c8c5c8d, Aido checked, Moreno bet 250,000, and Aido thought for a while before he called with Qh10d — he was playing the two pair on the board, with his queen as a kicker.
