Nick Petrangelo

We missed the preflop action but the end result was Sean Winter all in for 89,500 from the cutoff and Nick Petrangelo had him at risk from the big blind.

Petrangelo: JdJs
Winter: AdKs

A big-money race and Petrangelo slammed the door when he flopped a set on the Jc8s6h board. It finished with 3s turn and Kc river and Winter was asking where to re-register.

Nick Petrangelo – 180,000 (120 bb)
Sean Winter – Eliminated

Super High Roller 2: Chris Brewer Eliminated; A Few More Entries

Chris Brewer
Chris Brewer

Chris Brewer, who won yesterday’s $50K Super High Roller, was eliminated when he shoved the turn with a pair of eights and an open-ended straight draw into Dan Smith’s queen-high straight. Brewer missed his outs to a chop on the river, and he was eliminated from his first bullet.

Dan Smith  –  210,000  (140 bb)
Chris Brewer  –  Eliminated

They had just begun the process of combining to a single seven-handed table when a few more players arrived to expand the field to 11 entries — Nick Petrangelo, Sean Winter, and David Peters.

Here is the updated lineup:

Sam Soverel
Sam Soverel

Sean Perry opened to 3,000 from under the gun, Cary Katz three-bet to 15,000 from the small blind and Sam Soverel moved all in for 35,000 from the big. Perry thought for a moment, put his chips in the middle, and Katz could not call fast enough.

Katz: AcAd
Perry: QhQc
Soverel: AhKs

Katz was in a great spot to knock Soverel out and double through Perry. The dealer ran out the 9c7s6d5c2d board and that is what happened.

Cary Katz – 407,500 (272 bb)
Sean Perry – 90,000 (60 bb)
Sam Soverel – Eliminated

With the arrival of Sam Soverel, the field is up to eight players, and they’ve been split up into two tables of four players each.

TABLE 1
Seat 1.  Sergi Reixach
Seat 2.  Dan Smith
Seat 3.  Chris Brewer
Seat 4.  Jake Schindler

TABLE 2
Seat 1.  Cary Katz
Seat 2.  Sam Soverel
Seat 3.  Sean Perry
Seat 4.  Ali Imsirovic

In the first hand after Soverel arrived, there was a family pot as Sean Perry raised under the gun to 3,500, Ali Imsirovic called from the button, Cary Katz called from the small blind, and Soverel called from the big blind.

The flop came 8s7s4s, and it checked to Perry, who bet 8,500. Imsirovic and Katz both fold, and Soverel calls.

The turn card was the 6s, and both players checked.

The river card was the 2h, Soverel bet 15,000, and Perry thought for a while before he called. Soverel said, “Eight,” implying that he had a pair of eights, but Perry turned over 10h10c, and Soverel mucked. Perry won the pot.

Sean Perry  –  185,000  (123 bb)
Sam Soverel  –  96,500  (64 bb)

Registration remains open with a single re-entry option until the end of the dinner break, around 10:40 pm. With eight entries so far, the prizepool is up to $388,000.
