$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em Level 6: 200/400/50
With roughly an hour and a half remaining in the registration period, Flight 5F is up to 413 entries — for a six-flight total of 2,400 entries. That means this tournament with a $1 million guarantee will actually have a prizepool worth at least $1.2 million.
Can this flight reach 513 entries to create a 2,500-entry total? Stay tuned.
$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em Level 5: 150/300/25
After the first break, there are 371 entries in Flight 5F. That means there are a total of 2,358 entries so far, and registration remains open until the beginning of Level 9 (around 10:30 pm).
The field only needed to reach 2,000 to reach the guaranteed prizepool of $1 million, so with each additional entry the prizepool grows larger and larger.
The players are now on their first break of the night. Entries have climbed to 353 and still rolling making this tournament a lucrative opportunity for everyone who can get through the evening.
Players will play through Level 14 tonight and then begin the chase tomorrow for the Event 5 title.
Two players who have taken home titles here are Seminole Hard Rock find themselves seated next to each other early on here in Flight 5F. Last year’s Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year Angel Vu is next to Event 4 champion Sebastien Girard.
Look for some exciting poker between these two as the night wears on to close out Day 1 of Event 5.
As we move through the final Day 1 flight, some top talent has hit the room. Zach “Redlocks” Kessler, Lily Killeto, Chance Kornuth and John Magnetta have all been seated and are looking to advance to Day 2 tomorrow.
$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em Level 15: 1,500/3,000/500 Ante
After 14 levels, Flight 5E comes to an end. It started with 603 entries, and ended with approximately 125 survivors who bagged up chips for Day 2, which starts tomorrow (Sunday) at 1:00 pm.
The chipleader for this flight was WPT winner Tony Ruberto, who finished with 366,500.
The full list of official chip counts will be released by the tournament staff later tonight, but here is the top of the unofficial leaderboard, with everyone who bagged at least 200,000:
Flight 5F is the final starting flight of this tournament, and it’s underway now as the last chance for players to earn their piece of the more-than-a-million dollar prizepool.
With the outstanding numbers from today’s Flight 5E, it was only a matter of starting the clock tonight to hit the $1,000,000 guarantee. With 304 entries so far into our final flight tonight, the guarantee has easily been met and we’re on our way to a huge prize pool for Event 5.
Congratulations and thanks to all of our players. Best of luck!
$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em Level 14: 1,200/2,400/400 Ante
The two chipleaders — Kyle Sorel and John McDonald — have taken a couple hits since the break, and it could affect their end-of-day standings.
With the final board showing and about 100,000 already in the pot, Esther Foley checks under the gun, and chipleader Kyle Sorel bets 30,100 from the button. Foley thinks for a bit before she moves all in, and Sorel quickly folds. Foley takes the pot to cross the 200K mark.
The next hand, a player moves all in under the gun for about 25,000, John McDonald calls from the button, and WPT winner Eric Afriat moves all in from the small blind for about 35,000. McDonald calls, and here are their cards in descending order of chip counts:
John McDonald: Eric Afriat: UTG Player:
The board comes , and the two pair on the board creates a chopped pot between Afriat and the UTG player, as they both play their aces.
Eric Afriat – 60,000 (25 bb) John McDonald – 219,000 (91 bb)
