Event 6 is the popular $1,650 Purple Chip Bounty event with a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool and a slow, two-day schedule that will give players a lot of play in the game. They can also pick up a $500 cash chip for each player they knock out along the way.

2017 Fun in the Sun Main Event winner Bill Farnan

The final event of the 2017 Fun in the Sun Poker Open took place on Saturday. The $560 No Limit Hold’em Main Event drew 197 entries and generated a prize pool of $98,500, nearly doubling the $50,000 guarantee. When all was said and done, Bill Farnan emerged the victor after a heads-up deal was reached.

When the final table of 10 players was reached, Farnan was on top of the chip counts. However, he lost a crucial hand with nine players remaining to become the short stack. From there, Farnan turned just more than one big blind into a chip leading stack once again. When heads-up play was reached, a deal was immediately agreed upon and Farnan was officially the winner.

Residing in Jupiter, FL, the 57-year-old Farnan now has nearly $100,000 in career tournament earnings.
