2018 LHPO Concludes as 20 Players Earn Six-Figure Prizes

The 2018 Lucky Hearts Poker Open kicked off January 11 and concluded Wednesday night at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The 14-day series boasted 24 trophy events and was punctuated by 20 six-figure winners.

Outshining them all in the series two headline events were WPT Championship winner Darryll Fish and WPTDeepStacks champion Scott Baumstein. Baumstein reached the winner’s circle first, capturing the title and a $220,238 score in the opener. Fish, meanwhile, topped that figure ultimately pocketing $511,604 in the Championship.

Event 22 of the 2018 Lucky Hearts Poker Open was a $150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry) tournament. Over two starting flights, a total of 683 entries generated a prize pool of $81,960, easily surpassing the $50,000 guarantee. Only 65 players made it to Day 2, and when it was all said and done a three-handed deal was agreed upon. Carlos Torres Vasquez was the chip leader at the time, making him the official winner.

“I’m a recreational player and only play once a week, so to have a result like this is very nice. I was just happy to make the final table and would have been happy with any result, so to win the trophy feels like a bonus.”
