Event 8: $350 Big Stack Pot Limit Omaha8B (Re-Entry) Level 15: 2,000/4,000
Angel Vu may have a new side business – frog rental.
Vu stopped by Event 8 and just when her friend Mike Bozeman was getting short, she loaned him her now-legendary lucky frog. Not surprisingly, Bozeman was all-in for his tournament life shortly after the frog’s arrival and he held on to double up keeping his hopes alive for the Event 8 title.
In the meantime, Vu has purchased the domain RentAFrog.com.
Event 8: $350 Big Stack Pot Limit Omaha8B (Re-Entry) Level 13: 1,200/2,400
Greg Masterson started it, Brian Baris built it up and Bruce MacGregor finished it.
In the biggest hand of the tournamen in quite a while, Greg Masterson fired his last 8,700 into the middle and was called by Baris and MacGregor. Off a flop, Davis fired in 27,000 and MacGregor made the call. The rest of the board ran out and the rest of MacGregor’s chips ended up in the middle with a call from Baris.
MacGregor: Baris: Masterson:
The river had saved MacGregor giving him the wheel and the scoop. Baris was then eliminated shortly after the huge hand and we are now down to twelve players left in Event 8.

It’s been a slow road to the final table of Event 8 as only one player fell in Level 12. Brian Gelrod took a rough beat and was left with only 800 chips after the dust settled. He was then sent out the door on the next hand leaving fifteen players still alive for the championship. We’re off to Level 13 as Event 8 rolls on.

Event 8: $350 Big Stack Pot Limit Omaha8B (Re-Entry) Level 12: 1,000/2,000
It’s been pretty slow sledding in Event 8 since the tournament got down to 18 players. With only Jerry Jacobs out in 18th, the rest of the group has been chopping pots and chugging along pretty quietly.
One person who has been putting up some great facial expressions as we’ve gone on is Seminole Hard Rock-Hollywood regular Joseph Patalano. We caught him in one moment of surprise and other of actually having fun. We’re sure they’ll be many more as we move on through Event 8.

$350 Big Stack Pot Limit Omaha8B (Re-Entry) Level 1: 25/50
Noon time brings another non-Hold’em event on the schedule and more split-pot fun. Event 8 will be a smaller affair when they spread Pot Limit Omaha/8 but it will be entertaining.
Players start with 15,000 and will have 40-minute levels throughout the day. This is a one day tournament and will play out until we have a winner, despite the hi/low aspect of the game, it should run fast courtesy of the pot limit betting. Late registration/re-entry is available until the start of Level 7.
Robert Campbell is an early entrant, looking for his second title this series and his 12th overall Omaha/8 victory.
Cards are in the air and the tournament is underway.
Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ’N’ Roll” Poker Open Event 8: $350 Eight Handed Big Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry) $30,000 Guaranteed
November 19, 2014
Total Entries: 135 Total Prize Pool: $40,500
Recap: The eighth event on the 2014 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open” was also an eight-handed No Limit Hold’em game. The short-handed variation drew 135 entrants to easily surpass the $30,000 guarantee and it was local regular Joe Villacci who was the last player standing, taking home $7,776 for his efforts.
The game played quick and the field was reduced to just four tables in six hours leaving them just a few eliminations from the money with 24 spots paying. Cliff Gladstone took care of the bubble business when he knocked out his opponent to leave just three tables in action.
Several players had their time on the top chip count leaderboard including Darren Friedburg, Oleg Vayman, and Carlos Cruz. It was Cruz who dictated much of the action at the final table but it was Blain Ovind with one the biggest hands. He was able to knockout Raymond Ruszkowski and Ariel Rosello in the same hand to build his stack and ride it to a third place finish.
The final heads-up battled between Cruz and Villacci ended quickly after they made a deal for a straight chop and the winner of the last hand getting the championship honors. Villacci went runner-runner flush to win the hand and take home the trophy.
Villacci is a regular in the The Poker Room at Seminole Paradise and loves the tournament action. His previous biggest cash game came during a $350 Friday Series this past June and he also final tabled the Seniors Event during the 2012 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open”.
Villacci won’t slow down and we expect to see his face in the games throughout the series.
Final table results: 1st – Joe Villacci $7,776 2nd – Carlos Cruz $7,775 3rd – Blain Ovind $4,212 4th – Igor Skochko $3,078 5th – Oleg Vayman $2,430 6th – Frank Lerczak $1,802 7th – Chioh Yim $1,418 8th – Raymond Ruszkowski $1,073
