Harry Eisenberg

Event 7 of the 2018 Lucky Hearts Poker Open, a $300 H.O.R.S.E. (Re-Entry), drew 86 entries and generated a prize pool of $21,930. After about 11 hours, a four-handed deal was agreed upon by the final four players. Harry Eisenberg was chip leader at the time, earning him the official victory.

Originally from Wayland, Massaschusetts, Eisenberg now resides in Boca Raton and plays in the big tournament series at the Seminole Hard Rock often. With 11 final tables made here over the years, Eisenberg had been close to victory several times. Despite having three third-place finishes and four runner-up showings, however, that elusive SHRP title evaded him.

That all changed tonight.

“It’s wonderful,” said Eisenberg after the win. “I guess you think it’s never going to happen, then it happens, and it’s like walking on air. It’s like the first time I teed off at Pebble Beach. It’s just a wonderful feeling.”

Eisenberg began the final table third in chips, and steadily rose the ranks to seize the chip lead with six players still in the hunt. Once four players remained, they quickly agreed to a deal and Eisenberg finally had his victory at the Seminole Hard Rock.

“You have to get lucky, but I was happy with how I played. It’s nice to win one.”

Most of the chip went in on third street, with Stephen Wood committing his remaining 1,000 on fourth street.

Kosakowski: 8x7x / 4x4x
Wood: 8x5x / 6xJx

Both players proceeded to have terrible runouts.

Wood: 8x5x / 6xJxJxQx / 6x

Wood made three pairs for an awful Q-J-8-6-5 low, but Kosakowski’s runout was worse as he made a full house for a worse 4-4-Q-8-7 low, giving Wood the double.
