Level 23: 10,000/20,000/3,000 Ante

With the board showing Js6d3dQh on the turn, Kyle Sorel checked the small blind, the hijack bet 150,000, and Sorel called. The river card was the 5s, and Sorel moved all in, covering his opponent, who had about 405,000 left behind.

The hijack tanked for a long time, at one point saying, “I hope you didn’t make a stupid set of fives on the river.” He tanked a little while longer before he folded.

Sorel showed another big bluff — Kd10d. Sorel had a diamond flush draw with an open-ended straight draw on the turn, missed all his outs, and shoved the river to take the pot anyway.

Scanning the field for the chipleaders, that pot appears to have moved Sorel into second place on the leaderboard:

1.  Hayden Fortini  –  1,620,000  (81 bb)
2.  Kyle Sorel  –  1,490,000  (74 bb)
3.  Rafael Reis  –  1,300,000  (65 bb)
4.  George Dolofan  –  1,290,000  (64 bb)
5.  Steven Constantino  –  1,240,000  (62 bb)
6.  Cory Zeidman  –  1,020,000  (51 bb)
7.  Scott Stewart  –  1,000,000  (50 bb)

The pots are big and the action is fast, so the leaderboard has been changing frequently. With 89 players remaining, the average chip stack is about 556,000  (27 big blinds).

After this level (shortly after 7:45 pm), the players will take a 40-minute dinner break.

UPDATE:  Kyle Sorel has jumped up to 1.84 million (92 big blinds) in the past 15 minutes.
