There were 108 entries in the two-day $2,200 Deep Stack No-Limit Hold’em event, generating a prizepool worth $216,000 to beat the $200K guarantee. They played down to the final eight on Day 1, and then returned on Day 2 to play to a winner.

With the heads-up chip lead, Asher Neaman agreed to an even chop with Fred Goldberg, and as chipleader, Neaman was awarded the title and the trophy. They both earned $47,000.

Neaman actually started today’s final table as the short stack with just 12 big blinds. But he doubled thru Martins Adeniya in the first 15 minutes, and then about half an hour later Neaman knocked out Adeniya in eighth place. Neaman’s Ah10s held up against Adeniya’s KcQs.

And that set up the key hand of the final table for Neaman, when he and Alex Yen got it all in from the blinds with nearly identical stacks. Neaman had Ad2c, and he’d have been knocked down to just two chips (less than a big blind) if he couldn’t improve against Yen’s AhAc.

But the board came Qh10c4h5d3h, and Neaman rivered a five-high straight to win the pot, eliminating Yen in seventh place and catapulting up near the top of the leaderboard.

Neaman went on to eliminate Matt Lambrecht in fifth place and Andrew Ostapchenko in third place to get heads-up with Fred Goldberg. Neaman started heads-up play with a 1.5-to-1 lead, and after Goldberg won a few small pots to narrow the gap, they agreed to an even chop to end the tournament.

As chipleader, Neaman was awarded the title and the trophy, his first trophy here at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood.
