$2,200 Six-Max No Limit Hold’em (Freezeout) Level 11: 500/1,000/100 Ante
Corey Burbick was the last player to take his seat today and one of the first to leave. He was quickly followed by Carter Gill despite a valiant comeback attempt.
Gill was left just one big blind after tangling with Noah Schwartz before a series of doubles to actually give him the option of folding hands. He even got a little creative when he opened for 4,000 leaving 3,100 behind.
“It’s supposed to look scary,” he joked. The move managed to get through everyone though Schwartz was tempted. The comeback was cut short when his was out-flopped by Daniel Rashbaum’s .
$2,200 Six-Max No Limit Hold’em (Freezeout) Level 11: 500/1,000/100 Ante
No shortage of smack talk in the early stages today, as expected with four tables made up mostly of world-class players who see each other on a regular basis.
“Jake’s gone!” was the shout from Jared Jaffee as hopped around to shake the hand of Jake Schwartz. The needles began from the rest of the gallery and Schwartz stuck around for a while to give some of it right back.
Schwartz was one of the shorter stacks at the restart and couldn’t make a comeback.

There are only 23 players remaining of the starting 94 in Event 15 and they are scheduled to play down to a winner today. It would appears to be a short day but look are deceiving. The hour-long levels and deep structure will give them plenty of room to make moves.
Average stacks is ~50 big blinds at the start of Day 2 with all but seven players below that mark. Shannon Shorr finished with the lead after 10 levels yesterday with Kevin Schulz and Scott Efron not far behind.
They still have some work to do to make into the money with just 12 of them getting a piece of the $200,000 prize pool. A min-cash will earn them $5,500 while the winner will cash out for $53,920.
Most of the players have taken their seats and we are about to get underway.

Most players are happy enough to walk away from a big poker tournament as the last player standing with a nice bankroll boost and maybe a little trophy to put on their mantle. At the Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open, we add a little more value to the accomplishment.
In addition to cashing out the top prize and taking home a solid trophy for winning, champions also receive a custom 16×20 matted and framed print of their’s winner photo to hang for all to see.
Eric Harkins from Image Masters (IMPDI) is in the ballroom for each main tournament, capturing photos of the action, and immortalizing each victory with his camera. After taking the winner’s photo, Harkins returns with the finished product much to player’s delight.
“It’s a great extra bonus,” commented Pierre Rodriguez (pictured above). The Event 10 winner was back in the ballroom to pick up his framed photo and was impressed with the personal take-away from his win.
“It really crystallizes the moment in my head,” he continued. “Most of that time (final table) fades a little in your memory but this is a great reminder of the entire time.”
Even if you aren’t a champion in one of the 21 scheduled events this series, you can still pick up your own customized framed pictures from your time at the tables. IMPDI has plenty of options for making a great keepsake with 11×14, 16×20, and 20×24 frames available and you pick your photo(s).
Regular prints and picture CDs are also available plus the convenient IMPDI online shop once the series is complete.
Another great added value item for players in the 2015 Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open.
$2,200 Six-Max No Limit Hold’em (Freezeout) Level 2: 50/100
It’s hard to find a soft spot at a $2,200 6-Max table and this one is shaping up to be a tough one. So far 65 entrants have jumped into the Freezeout and it’s already an impressive lineup.
A quick walk through the field found Jason Mercier, Noah Schwartz, Matt Waxman, Carter Gill, John Dolan, Ian O’Hara, Brian Hastings, Darryll Fish, Joe Kuether, Cliff Goldkind, Jacob Bazeley, Shannon Shorr, Chance Kornuth, and Will “The Thrill” Failla.
But the biggest name in the short-handed event would have to be 2010 WSOP Main Event Champion Jonathan Duhamel, making his first trip to the state and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood.
The Seniors Event returned to the 2015 Lucky Hearts Poker Open schedule and the $350 buy-in tournament drew a nice crowd of the 50+ year old gang. Of the 124 entrants to put up their money, it was Canadian Douglas Hartwick as the last one standing in the end for the title and a cool $9,123.
The tournament ran quickly from start to finish. The event was down to just 54 players before the second break and registration still open then closing in on the money in less than four hours. They went to hand-for-hand action on the money bubble and found a bust out on both tables.
Gregg Silverstein and Peter Netherton went out on the same hand to split 12th place money between them. They powered through to the final table and decided to keep playing despite the option of stopping for the night. They ended the day with six remaining after Hector Buitrago was sent out in 7th spot.
The returning six players didn’t waste any time as well, Mark Dugay was all-in and eliminated in 6th place on the third hand of the day. Scott Efron followed him to the cage shortly after getting chopped down to one big blind by Errol Rosen.
The four remaining players were fully prepared to chop the money evenly with all sporting similar stacks. It was almost a done deal until the last hand when 2015 Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open points leader Ory Hen moved all-in before they paused the clock.
Hen’s Jacks were instantly called by Douglas Hartwick in the small blind with Kings. The hand knocked Hen down to a couple big blinds and his exit in 3rd was a shock. After a short break, the last three players came to a quick agreement with obvious leader Hartwick getting the title.
“This is my first time here,” Hartwick commented, “I’ve never played here but this is great.”
“Comfortable chairs, massive tournaments, and fun games.” Hartwick laughed. “I plan to stick around for the $2,200 6-Max (Event 15) and the main.”
This isn’t Hartwick’s first taste of success at a Lucky Hearts Poker Open event, he finished 9th in the Championship last year. The Ontario resident might be new to the room but he’s having success right off the bat.
Final Table Results: 1st: Douglas Hartwick (Willowdale, ON) – $9,123 2nd: Errol Rosen (Weston, FL) – $7,824 3rd: Larry Klur (Pembroke Pines, FL) – $7,047 4th: Ory Hen (Cooper City, FL) – $3,162 5th: Scott Efron (Boca Raton, FL) – $2,511 6th: Mark Dugay (Saint John) – $1,953 7th: Hector Buitrago – $1,581 8th: Ed Turner (Lutz, FL) – $1,209 9th: Paul Darpino (Binghampton, NY) – $837
