Event 23: George Abdo Eliminated By Stan Jablonski

$2,650 No Limit Hold’em (Freeze-Out)
Level 12: 800/1,600 with a 200 ante
Players Remaining: 180 of 529

George Abdo moved all in under the gun for right around 20,000 and action folded to Stan Jablonski, who three-bet all in over the top for 45,000 or so. The blinds both folded and the cards were turned up.

Jablonski: AsKc
Abdo: Ac9c

Jablonski’s kicker had him well out in front, and that’s just where he stayed after the board ran out a clean 3hJs4s3c5c.

Meanwhile, both Allen Kessler and Mike Wang have fell in recent action.

Stan Jablonski – 60,000
George Abdo – Eliminated
Allen Kessler – Eliminated
Mike Wang – Eliminated

Event 23: Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi Falls

$2,650 No Limit Hold’em (Freeze-Out)
Level 11: 600/1,200 with a 200 ante
Players Remaining: 198 of 529

We missed the elimination of Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi as it happened, but fortunately the man who eliminated him, Gil Morgensztern, filled us in on some details.

As he told it, Mizrachi open-jammed the KxQx8x two-diamond flop holding the 6d7d and a player in between called. Morgensztern then moved all in over the top with QxJx, the other player folded, and Mizrachi bricked on both the turn and river.

Gil Morgensztern – 50,000
Michael Mizrachi – Eliminated

Event 23: Another Double for Bryn Kenney

$2,650 No Limit Hold’em (Freeze-Out)
Level 11: 600/1,200 with a 200 ante
Players Remaining: 207 of 529

In a hand between Mike Wang and Bryn Kenney, we picked up the action preflop with the former having 6,600 in front of him in the cutoff and the latter popping it to 13,500 from the small blind. Wang responded by moving all in and Kenney snap-called off for 42,800 total.

Kenney: AdAh
Wang: QsQc

Kenney improved to a set on the As4d3s flop, which left Wang drawing to runner-runner. The 10d turn took away any chance of that happening, and he sent over more than half his stack after the 3c was run out on the river.

Bryn Kenney – 90,000
Mike Wang – 40,000

Event 23: Fours for Bryn Kenney

$2,650 No Limit Hold’em (Freeze-Out)
Level 10: 500/1,000 with a 100 ante
Players Remaining: 234 of 529

After a player in middle position opened with a raise, Bryn Kenney three-bet all in for 18,900 from the cutoff. The button and blinds all folded, and then the original raiser put in the chips to make the call.

Kenney: 4c4d
Opponent: AdQd

It was a flip, and Kenney was just looking to hold to stay alive. That’s just what he did to as the board ran out a safe Jd8h6sKc6h.

Bryn Kenney – 40,000

Event 23: The Ladies Love Kory Kilpatrick

$2,650 No Limit Hold’em (Freeze-Out)
Level 10: 500/1,000 with a 100 ante
Players Remaining: 252 of 529

Kory Kilpatrick
Kory Kilpatrick

Kory Kilpatrick, who won a World Series of Gold bracelet in 2014, opened for 2,000 from middle position and was met by a three-bet from Taylor Paur, who was to his direct left. Action folded back to Kilpatrick, and he tanked for a bit before moving all in.

Paur, who had 27,500 back, didn’t seem thrilled but called off nonetheless after pondering for a few moments.

Paur: AhQd
Kilpatrick: QhQc

The AcQs8d flop looked dangerous as it contained an ace, but it also included the case queen to give Kilpatrick a set. Paur could still win with another ace, but he was left wanting as the Jh  blanked on the turn followed by the 10c river.

Kory Kilpatrick – 80,000
Taylor Paur – Eliminated

Event 23: Christian Harder Eliminated By Ben Zamani

$2,650 No Limit Hold’em (Freeze-Out)
Level 9: 400/800 with a 100 ante
Players: 529

Christian Harder got his stack of 10,700 all in preflop and found himself at risk against Ben Zamani, who if you recall finished runner-up to James Mackey last month in the World Poker Tour Choctaw Main Event for $412,234.

Harder: AhQc
Zamani: QsJs

Harder was well out in front thanks to his kicker, and he held through both the Ks9h5s flop and 6s turn. Unfortunately for him, the Jd river was a dagger through his heart as it paired Zamani.

Ben Zamani – 40,000
Christian Harder – Eliminated

Event 23: Anthony Lombard Doubles Through Blake Bohn

$2,650 No Limit Hold’em (Freeze-Out)
Level 9: 400/800 with a 100 ante
Players: 529

With around 14,000 in the pot and a board reading 7c10sQs2s, unknown action broke out between Anthony Lombard and Mid-States Poker Tour Pro Blake Bohn that resulted in the former getting all in for 26,100.

Bohn: [kdjs]
Lombard: [ksqc]

Bohn was drawing to an open-ended straight with a flush draw, though a spade would do him no good as Lombard had a bigger one to go along with his top pair. The 8h river was of no consequence, and Lombard doubled through Bohn.

Blake Bohn – 70,000
Anthony Lombard – 66,000

Event 23: Samuel Bernabeu Eliminates Matt Berkey

$2,650 No Limit Hold’em (Freeze-Out)
Level 8: 300/600 with a 75 ante
Players: 501

After Samuel Bernabeu opened with a raise from middle position, Matt Berkey three-bet all in for roughly 9,000 from the small blind. After the player in the big blind folded, Bernabeu, who back in 2013 finished fifth in the SHRPO Main Event, made the call.

Bernabeu: AsQc
Berkey: 10h9h

The 5s8h2d flop was no help to Berkey, and while the 7s turn didn’t hit him directly, it did give him an open-ended straight draw to go with his two live cards. Unfortunately for him, none of his outs appeared as the Kc bricked on the river.

Samuel Bernabeu – 34,000
Matt Berkey – Eliminated

Event 23: Big Slick for Chane Kampanatsanyakorn

$2,650 No Limit Hold’em (Freeze-Out)
Level 8: 300/600 with a 75 ante
Players: 501

A short-stacked player moved all in for 5,025 under the gun and action folded all the way around to Thailand’s Chane Kampanatsanyakorn, who moved all in for about twice that from the small blind. That prompted the player in the big to fold and the cards were turned up.

Kampanatsanyakorn: AhKs
Opponent: QhJs

Kampanatsanyakorn was ahead, but his opponent was drawing to two live cards. Fortunately for Kampanatsanyakorn, neither came as the board ran out a clean 4d9s3d5s2d.

Chane Kampanatsanyakorn – 16,000

Event 23: Anthony Lombard More Than Doubles

$2,650 No Limit Hold’em (Freeze-Out)
Level 7: 250/500 with a 75 ante
Players: 495

SHRPO-Event-23-07643

Anthony Lombad, who finished seventh a couple days ago in Event #20: No-Limit Hold’em Turbo for $5,880, raised to 1,500 from early position and the player to his direct left made the call. Blake Bohn, who was to that player’s left, did the same, and action folded to the player in the big blind, who moved all in for 27,500.

Lombard wasted little time in calling off for 17,625 total and the other two players ditched their hands.

Lombard: KcKd
Opponent: AdKs

Lombard was looking to avoid an ace, and he did so on the Jd10c4s flop, though his opponent did pick up a Broadway gutshot to a queen. The 3s turn was of no consequence, and neither was the 5h river. Ship the double to Lombard.

Anthony Lombard – 40,000
