Event 7: Nick Yunis Eliminated in 13th Place By Bob Tanner

$360 No Limit Hold’em Six-Max
Level 17: 2,000/4,000 with a 500 ante
Players Remaining: 12 of 152

Bob Tanner

Bob Tanner raised on the button and Nick Yunis moved all in from the small blind for about 68,000. Tanner called and the cards were tabled.

It was a race for Yunis’ tournament life with his 8d8h against Tanner’s AcTh.

The flop was KdTd5s and Tanner takes the lead with middle pair. The turn was the 2d and the river was the 3c to send the pot to Tanner and eliminate Yunis in 13th place.

Yunis hit the rail in 13th place for $793, while Tanner takes a massive chip lead over the field.

Bob Tanner – 455,000 (114 bb)

Event 7: Sam Sayegh Doubles Up On The Bubble, Maria Torres Eliminated On The Bubble

$360 No-Limit Hold’em Six-Max
Level 16: 1,500/3,000 with a 500 ante
Players Remaining: 19 of 152

Sam Sayegh

With the bubble having already lasted for 90 minutes already at this point, Sam Sayegh limped in from under the gun and the player on the button limped as well. The small blind completes his option and Maria Torres checked her option in the big blind.

The flop was As9h6d and the small blind checked. Torres checks as well and Sayegh moved all in for 9,500. The button folded, the small blind called and Torres folded as well, leaving herself with just 1,000 in chips, good for two antes.

Sayegh showed AhTs and was in the lead against the small blind’s Tc9c. Only a nine would save the small blind and squeak Torres into the money, but the 2h on the turn and the 5h on the river was enough to keep Sayegh in the lead and secure his double up.

Torres was eliminated on the very next hand to burst the bubble and give the final 18 players a payday of at least $593.

Sam Sayegh – 31,000
Maria Torres – Eliminated

Players Remaining: 19 of 152

Bryce McVay moved all in on the button for 15,700 and Tony Ruberto snap-called out of the small blind. McVay’s head sunk in despair at the speed of Ruberto’s call and showed AcQs.

“You’re in better shape than you think,” said Ruberto, tabling 3c3h.

The board ran out As9c2dKd4h and McVay doubled up with a pair of aces. There are still 19 players and hand-for-hand has been taking place for almost the entire level.

With one more elimination, the final 18 players will be in the money.

Bryce McVay – 33,400
Tony Ruberto – 71,000

The big blind flashed Ac2c and tossed it into the muck, leaving Dawley heads-up with the player in middle position.

Dawley showed KhKd and was up against her opponent’s AsQd. The board ran out Kc8h7cTs9c and Dawley more than doubles up with a set of kings.

Dawley stacked her chips while the big blind lamented not calling the bet, having what would’ve been the nut flush.

It’s a flip with Sriqui’s AdKd up against the small blind’s QcQd. The board runs out Ts9c2c2h7c and Sriqui loses the flip, but is still very healthy on chips.
