There were 608 entries across four starting flights in Event #14, the $1,100 Platinum Stack No-Limit Hold’em, and 76 survived to Day 2, where everyone was guaranteed a piece of the prizepool worth $589,760. They battled for 12 hours before the final five players agreed to a deal, and as chipleader, Benjamin Moschel was awarded the title, the trophy, and $63,853.
Moschel was third in chips when the final table began, but after nearly four hours of play, they had only lost four players. The blinds kept rising to the point where the average chip stack was only worth 15 big blinds, and that’s when the final five players agreed to make an ICM deal to end the tournament.
This is the third Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood trophy for Moschel in the past 18 months, and in an interesting twist, Benjamin’s twin brother Jonathan won his first SHR trophy just five days ago in Event #6.
