At one point earlier today, Brian Hastings sat on a field of ruin with just 25,000 in his stack, and the blinds at 30,000-60,000. To make matters even worse he was the small blind on the very next hand. He mustered his best short-stack ninja game to run that stack up to a final-table appearance and he cashed in ninth place.

Hastings was all in for 2.25 million on his final hand from the big blind preflop with in the hole, and Jesse Lonis had him covered holding on the small blind.
