After 10 levels of No Limit Hold’em, Day 1 of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown has come to a close and Steven Hensley leads the field with 398,500 in chips.

1,222 players made their way to Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Hollywood and put up the $3,500 buy-in, which generated a prizepool of $3.91 million. The top 153 finishers will get paid with a min-cash worth $4,791, but first place is worth $654,151 and a $15,000 seat into the WPT Tournament of Champions.

By the time the last hand was dealt, the field was trimmed down to about 500 players. Those survivors returning for Day 2 on Saturday at noon. When the all of the chip counts are entered for the night, an exact count will be announced.

Joining the aforementioned Hensley atop the chip counts are David Farber, Michael Laake, Craig Varnell and Joe Elpayaa.
