There’s no such thing as a soft table in this field, but a few in the room stand out as particularly unkind places to try to maneuver this evening.

Table 62 is the first one that caught our eye, laid out like this:

Seat 1: Bryn Kenney – 35,000
Seat 2: Venkatesh Gupta – 48,000
Seat 3: Kevin Saul – 72,000
Seat 4: Matt Salsberg – 22,000
Seat 5: Barry Hutter – 34,000
Seat 6: Tim Reilly – 38,000
Seat 7: J.P. Kelly – 74,000
Seat 8: Brian Altman – 33,000
Seat 9: Bobby Suer – 73,000

Mohsin Charania occupied Seat 4 until just a few minutes ago. Bobby Suer took the last of Charania’s chips, cueing another table break from the auxiliary tournament room.

The new players entered the room together, and Matt Salsberg found himself with the card for Table 62 Seat 4.

“I just came from the best table in the world,” he said as he arrived. “Now this.”

Matt Salsberg

Salsberg has the shortest stack at the table, operating from inside a T-shirt with a picture of a bear that reads: “DANGER – I am a hugger.”
