Keven Stammen

Somebody raised to 9,000, the player in the cutoff called, the small blind called, and Keven Stammen moved all in from the big blind for 42,000.

The original raiser folded, and the cutoff reraised to 75,000. The small blind tanked for a long time before he folded, saying he had pocket sevens and flashing his cards to Stammen sitting next to him.

Stammen turned over AsQh, and needed it to hold to stay alive against the cutoff’s AcJs.

The board came Qc7d3h2d2s, and Stammen won the pot with two pair, queens and deuces, to double up in chips. (The player in the small blind said he would have called if the cutoff hadn’t, and he would have made a full house to eliminate Stammen.)

With about 225 players remaining from a field of 1,180, the average chip stack is about 210,000 (53 big blinds). The final 148 players will finish in the money, guaranteed at least $7,270 each.

There will be a 90-minute dinner break after Level 16 (6:30 pm), and action will continue tonight until the end of Level 20 (about 12:15 am).
