Championship Moves to Day 3 While Two Trophies Won

Day 2 of the $3,500 WPT Main Event was where all of the attention was on Saturday, but amidst all of the main event action, two more players took home Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown titles.

Artem Maksimov won the $570 No Limit Hold’em Turbo event. He topped a field of 69 players to notch $12,075 and Nalton Williams won the $250 No Limit Hold’em event in a three-way deal for over $11,000.

Day 2 of the Main Event started with 488 players, but after another 10 levels of play it was trimmed down to just 74 players. They reached the money late in the day with the top 153 players earning a payday.

With 74 players remaining, it is Andrey Plotnikov leading the way with 1,793,000 in chips.

The final 74 players return on Sunday at noon for Day 3 of the tournament and are scheduled to play down to the final six players.

Along with Day 3 of the $3,500, the $10,000 WPT Finale kicks off at 2 p.m. and there is a single day $350 No Limit Hold’em re-entry event that gets cards in the air at noon.
