Spencer Champlin raised from the small blind to 100,000, leaving himself just 5K behind, and the big blind moved all in.

Champlin tanked for a bit, since it looked like a table might be breaking, which would indicate a pay jump. A.J. Kelsall got up and went to confirm with a floorperson how many players were left, and he returned to tell Champlin there were 63 left and he had made the pay jump.

Champlin called all in for 105,000 with Qs9h, and the big blind turned over Kc6c. Champlin needed to improve to stay alive.

The board came AsQcJs3h2d, and Champlin won the pot with a flopped pair of queens to double up in chips.

“See? The pay jump didn’t even matter,” said Kelsall.
