$3,500 Seminole Hard Rock RRPO Championship
Level 11: 600/1,200 with a 200 ante
Players Remaining: 283 of 760
It took two starting flights to determine the field size of the 2016 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open” Championship and now the survivors will join as one in the ballroom. What began with 760 entries is now down to only 283 players with a chance at the title.
Those 760 entries easily surpassed the $2 Million Guarantee and built the prize pool over $2.4 million. The last 72 players will earn a piece with the next champion taking home $564,227.
Defending champ Jake Bazeley is still in the mix trying for the Championship repeat and he’s joined by two WSOP Main Event champions. Ryan Riess and Joe McKeehen each survived their opening flight but reigning WSOP Main Event winner Qui Nguyen fell short last night.
The Seminole Hard Rock Poker team also advanced several players in the game when Sheddy Siddiqui, Jessica Dawley, Faraz Jaka, Jared Jaffee, Natasha Mercier, and Matt Stout all put chips in a bag at the end of Day 1. Continuing the SHRP success, Seminole Hard Rock Tampa saw all three of their members (John Racener, Wally Maddah, and Justin Zaki) make it through as well.
Three-time WSOP bracelet winner Brian Hastings returns as the chip leader and he’s joined by Florida poker royalty with Michael Mizrachi, Robert Mizrachi, and Jason Mercier booking a spot in the Day 2 field as well.
Day 2 will have them play another ten full 60-minute levels and we expect to hit the money bubble late in the day. There will be a 90-minute dinner break at the end of Level 16 and they will be aiming for some money when they return.
We’ll be here all day with updates and will start the Poker Night in America live-stream after the first break.
