A minute or two after Aaron Massey’s elimination in 25th place, Ubaid Habib raised from middle position to 110,000, Jeff Trudeau reraised from the big blind to 250,000, and Habib tanked for a while before he folded, leaving himself just 350,000.

Several players at the table seemed confused, reminding him that he made the pay jump, and wondering what he was thinking. But Habib seemed secure in his decision.

Jeff Trudeau  –  2,500,000  (50 bb)
Ubaid Habib  –  350,000  (7 bb)

The next hand, Habib moved all in from UTG+1 for 350,000, taking the blinds and ante. Habib seemed even more satisfied with his decision to fold the previous hand.

Ubaid Habib  –  475,000  (10 bb)

With 24 players remaining, the average chip stack is about 1,965,000 (39 big blinds). The remaining players are all guaranteed at least $31,360, and the next pay jump is $38,115 for 21st place.

There will be a one-hour dinner break after Level 25 (about 6:45 pm), and action will continue tonight until the field is down to the final nine players for tomorrow’s final table.
