David Prociak is running out of room for all of the Hard Rock trophies he’s won over the last couple of years.

After winning the $360 Pot Limit Omaha title last week for $9,078, Prociak earned his second title of the series in the early hours of Wednesday morning by taking down the $1,650 Pot Limit Omaha event.

Prociak, the 2016 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year, bested a field of 34 players to win his fifth career Hard Rock title and earn $20,400.

“I’m glad I won this one,” said Prociak. “It has a bigger buy-in, better players, and more prestigious.”

Prociak is one of the more complete poker players the Seminole Hard Rock has. He has a World Series of Poker bracelet in Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo, a HORSE title from the 2016 Rock n’ Roll Poker Open, an Omaha Hi-Lo title last year at Coconut Creek, three Pot Limit Omaha titles at the Hard Rock, and countless cashes in No-Limit Hold’em events.

Of all the games he is proficient in, he likes Pot Limit Omaha more than the rest.

“It’s the game I play the most,” said Prociak. “The game I’ve played, besides hold’em, the longest. I don’t really like hold’em that much anymore, but you got to play it because that’s where the big tournaments are.

“I’m also very lucky,” said Prociak with a chuckle. “So that goes together with PLO.”

The Florida native came into the final table near the top of chip counts, but really dominated the table, especially as the money bubble approached.

He amassed a huge stack and had more than half of the chips in play with five players remaining on the money bubble.

“I had really good position at the table,” said Prociak. “Based on how people were playing, I was able to get away with a lot of stuff. I won a big pot and had a big lead. People just couldn’t really call me and I was pushing the bubble. I just built my stack up from there.”

Once the bubble popped and there were four players remaining, players seemingly dropped like flies and it wasn’t long before Prociak had amassed all of the chips in play.

He defeated Oren Maimon heads-up to secure the title and add another trophy to his already crowded trophy case.
