After five hours of play, only three players were sent to the payout desk and the remaining five were sent on a 40-minute dinner break. Richard Zipes continues to lead with Jason Wandling battling his early short stack up to the second biggest at dinner.

They will return to blinds at 50,000/75,000 with a 75,000 ante and the average stack is 3,975,000 (53 bb). With no one under 30 big blinds, they can settle in for a tough battle.

Jason Wandling and Stuart Greenbaum were heads up to a flop of Ah8c5d and Wandling checked. Greenbaum bet 200,000 and Wandling check-raised to 600,000. Greenbaum responded with a three-bet to 1,700,000 and Wandling moved all in for 2,225,000 total. Greenbaum thought for a moment and then called.

Richard Zipes opened the action to 200,000 from the small blind and Rafiki Brown called in the big to see the QsTs7h flop. Zipes immediately moved all in and Brown stopped to think it through.

After several minutes and questions of Zipes, Brown called at risk for ~2,300,000.

It was a good call by Brown with his top pair queens ahead of Zipes’ second pair tens. The lead lasted one card as the Td hit the turn giving Zipes trip tens. Brown jumped up and was sent out after the 5s river completed the tough bust out.

We are closing out the 2021 May Deep Stack Poker Series with one last chance to in a trophy. Event 8 is a $150 buy-in tournament with a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool kicking off at 6 pm in the Poker Room.

Players sit down to 20,000 starting stacks and all levels run for 20 minutes. Late registration is available until the start of Level 7 at 8:10 pm with unlimited re-entries during that time. They will continue playing into the event until we crown our last champion of the series.

Richard Zipes limped from early position, Rafiki Brown raised to 175,000, and Jason Wandling moved all in from the button for 385,000. Stuart Greenbaum called from the small blind followed by calls from Zipes and Brown.

The flop came QcJc8d, Greenbaum checked, and Zipes checked. Brown put out 1,200,000 to get folds from the other two live players.

Rafiki Brown opened to 125,000 from under the gun and picked up calls from Stuart Greenbaum in the cutoff, Cosmin Joldis in the small blind, and Richard Zipes in the big.

The flop came Ad9d3s and all four players checked. The turn was 5h, Joldis bet 275,000 and only Zipes came along to the 3c river.

Joldis bet 375,000, Zipes thought for two minutes before folding, and Zipes added a nice chunk to his stack without a showdown.
