It folded around to Jason Wandling in the cutoff and he moved all in for 505,000. Stuart Greenbaum called in the small blind and Steve Karp folded his big.

Wandling was ahead for a double but had some suited cards to fade. Both players hit the but Wandling’s paired ace kept him out front. The board finished with the turn and river to send Wandling the double.

With board complete and reading in a battle of the blinds, Dien Le bet 250,000, Richard Zipes raised to 500,000, and Le pushed his entire stack in the middle.

“Is that more than my bet?” Zipes asked before flipping his cards.

The dealer confirmed that Le was all-in for 670,000 total and Zipes called showing for the second nut flush. Le shook his head, turned over for the lesser flush, and was eliminated in eighth place.

Besides the early double-up action, Richard Zipes has been the most active player at the table. And it’s showing a positive ROI for his stack plus he’s getting some laughs along the way.

One hand saw him limp from the cutoff and Rafiki Brown raised to 95,000 from the button. Tony Cappadona called from the big blind, Zipes called, and the flop came .

Cappadona checked, Zipes beet 150,000 and Brown folded. Cappadona through for several moments while a considerable rail turned up around the table, most on break from Event 7.

“Not only do I have shoes older than you,” Zipes joked with Cappadona. “I have kids older than you.

Stuart Greenbaum opened to 90,000 from middle position and Cosmin Joldis three-bet shipped for 630,000 from the hijack. It folded back around to Greenbaum, he pulled the chips out for a call, and thought for a minute for calling.

“Let’s go,” Greenbaum said.

Tony Cappadona opened to 90,000 from the hijack and Stuart Greenbaum three-bet to 250,000 from the cutoff. The rest of the table folded and Cappadona called.

The flop came , Cappadona checked, Greenbaum continued for 400,000 and Cappadone called.

The turn was , Cappadona led out for 500,000 and Greenbaum called.

The river was and Cappadona cut out a lot of chips before he checked. Greenbaum bet 500,000 and Cappadona did not look happy to fold while giving the chip leader more chips.

We’ve played through three starting flights of the May Deep Stack Poker Series $1,700 headline event plus a long Day 2. The tournament reached the final table of eight players late on Sunday and they return this after at 2 pm to play down to a champion.

SHRP regular Stuart Greenbaum took the lead late and comes back for Day 2 as the big stack at the final table. Rafiki Brown and Tony Cappadona are also sitting comfortably but the 90-minute levels mean no one is in immediate danger.

We kicked off the first tournament of the series nearly two weeks ago and we close it out today. Hector Pacheco was our Event 1 champion on the first weekend and he’s trying to bookend the series with another win today.
