John DePersio

For John DePersio, a flopped set of threes was no good against the rivered set of fours of Joseph Duchman. The hand left DePersio with about 600,000 and he hung around as a short stack for a few orbits.

On his final hand, he open shoved again holding pocketing threes. Bryan Emory called with QxJx in the big blind and won the race versus the short stack. DePersio was eliminated in seventh place earning $8,246.

With 315,000 plus the blinds and antes already in the pot, Lazaro Dubrocq  jammed 610,000 from the big blind. Emory called while the other two players folded. Dubrocq was at risk.

Dubrocq: 9s9h
Emory: AcKs

A JdTs8c flop gave Emory straight outs to go with his over cards. The turn Kc brought Broadway home and left Dubrocq drawing dead. The river was the 6c making his eighth-place finish official.
