After four starting days and eight flights, the Event 1 field will finally join as one this afternoon. The record-setting tournament drew more than 5,000 entrants and 960 of them managed to make it through 14 full levels with chips, good enough to return today for Day 2.

Every ballroom table will be in use, along with a dozen in the Poker Room, and they’ll first play down to the money then deeper towards the final table. All are aiming for a piece of the $1.5 million prize pool and the last 500 will walk to the payout desk.

Jim Seaver returns as the chip leader with Alvaro Jirau his closest competitor. There are still some big names in the mix including Zo Karim, Jason Young, and Seminole Hard Rock Poker team members Sheddy Siddiqui, Darryll Fish, and Stewart Newman while Seminole Hard Rock Tampa is represented by Wally Maddah.

Action will kick off at 1pm and we’ll quickly play down with the money bubble hitting between the first two breaks. Then things will really pick up once they are in the money.

Besides our live updates from SHRPO.com, we will also feature a feature table live stream starting later this afternoon and continuing until we have a new champion.
