Chino Rheem just lost a big pot to drop down to 250,000 and into the danger zone with barely more than five big blinds. He moved them all in from early position in the next hand, and action folded around to the big blind, who squeezed his cards and froze.

“Give him, like, eight-three,” Rheem pleaded.

The big blind laughed and said something quietly under his breath.

“You have exactly that?” Rheem deciphered. “You have eight-three?! All right. If I told you I didn’t look at my cards, would you believe me?” The big blind nodded. “I didn’t,” Rheem said. “That’s fair since you have eight-three.”

The big blind nodded again, then stared up at the ceiling as he appeared to be doing some math in his head. “I’m suited, man…,” he said. Eventually, he folded, flashing the , and Rheem chose not to look at his own cards as he returned them to the dealer face-down.

Rheem is still in push/fold mode, but the first one has gotten through, at least.
