Event 1 Day 1C: End of Play for the Day

$100 + $25 No Limit Hold’Em Deep Stack

Play has come to end on Day 1C but not without some drama. Former chipleader Jimmy Miller was setting with a top 10 chipstack with just a few minutes left in the final level yet will not show in the chip counts in the end.

Tournament staff announced two more hands would be played before stopping for the evening when Miller lost two huge hands, the last being a six-digit pot to David Poces. Miller put his last chips in the pot pre-flop with Ac3c which never improved against Poces’ AsTd and Miller was gone.

That hand propelled Poces into the chiplead for Day 1C and his 235,700 is good enough for 2nd place on the combined Day 1 leaderboard. The day began with 175 entrants but only 19 of them made it through to Day 2 to join the other 52 from previous flights.

Top Five Day 1C Chip Counts:

David Poces – 235,700
Peter Striano – 143,000
Jemes Salmon – 140,000
Paraskevas Patsatis – 135,500
Margarita Ramirez Serrano – 134,000
