On a flop of AdQs2h, the big blind checks and a player in middle position bets 1,000. Marvin “The Flying Duckman” Karlins immediately raises to 3,000 from the hijack. The button folds, the big blind folds and the hijack calls.

“I’m running hot,” said Karlins before the turn card is dealt.

The turn is the 9c and both players quickly check. The river is the 6c and the hijack bets 5,000. Karlins quickly moves all in for effectively the hijack’s remaining 27,000.

“I told you I’m running hot,” said Karlins while his opponent goes into the tank. “I’ll show you.”

The hijack hems and haws for a few moments before tossing his hand into the muck. Karlins shows Ah6h, giving him two pair, and his opponent lets out some groans of frustration as Karlins stacks the chips.

Karlins, who is known to many as “The Flying Duckman,” is most well-known for his fourth place finish in the WPT Bestbet Jacksonville Bounty Scramble last November. He took home over $119,000 for his score in Jacksonville and is the chip leader as Day 1F nears its first break of the day.
