The first event at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida has reached Day 2, and cards got in the air at 1 p.m. Eastern Time.
Event No. 1 ($350 No-Limit Hold’em) is a re-entry tournament with five starting flights and that pumped the total field size to a massive 3,391 players. There are 697 that advanced to Day 2 and they have a long day of poker ahead of them. Play will end at 3 a.m. tonight or when the final table is reached, which is unlikely given the amount of players we have coming back. Today we will bring you live coverage from Day 2 as the field plays 40-minute levels with a break every two hours.
The total prize pool generated by this field is $1,017,300. This more than doubled the $500,000 guarantee. The eventual champion will take home $138,952 and the top 306 players will take home at least $407.
The chip leader is Guillermo Reyes with 437,500 and he is joined at the top by Mark Spies(427,000), Chris Spencer (376,600), Miguel Caputo (370,800), and Ira Schwartz (353,300). Stay tuned for updates throughout the day from the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open.
