We are wrapping up the first weekend of the May Deep Stack Poker Series and there are 123 players around for Day 2 of Event 1. The $350 buy-in tournament more than doubled its $150,000 guaranteed prize pool and we will know exactly how big it hit this afternoon.

We had 1,012 entries over the three starting flights but players still have a chance to get in the game. Registration will remain open until cards go in the air at noon and we will crunch the payout numbers.

Seth Weinberg came on late in Flight C to bag the overall chip lead with poker pros Phil Hui and Sean Shah also sitting in the top ten. Reigning Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open champ Michael Newman bagged the Flight A lead and will return to the sixth biggest stack of the day.

The first order of business will be closing down registration and generate prize pool and payout information. Then it will be on to the money bubble, players walking away with cash, and the eventual final table.

Since Flight B ended early, Day 2 will reset the blinds to Level 14 with 39 minutes and 42 seconds remaining. The first two levels of the day will last 40 minutes then switch to 60 minutes in Level 16. For all players who make it to Level 26, the blinds will last for 90 minutes.

Plenty of play in the poker room today.

We will get back underway at the top of the hour and we will have all the action.

Top ten returning stacks:

  1. Seth Weinberg – 801,000 (200 bb)
  2. Svi Soudai – 718,000 (180 bb)
