We expected a big turnout on the opening weekend of the Poker Showdown and our friends did not disappoint. The first four flights of Event 1 drew more than 2,500 entries and the fifth flight is already maxed out at 480 unique players.

We are looking at the very real possibility of turning the $500,000 guarantee into a $2,000,000 prize pool. With Flight E already sold out and Flight F likely to do the same this afternoon, that big number is drawing live.

Players will start with 20,000 deep stacks and all Day 1 levels will last 30 minutes. All 480 seats are sold but those players will still have a single re-entry option until the start of Level 9 at 2:30 pm. The field will continue playing down until only 12.5% of the field remains and they will advance to Day 2 tomorrow already in the money.

It will be a busy day in the Seminole Ballroom with cards going in the air at 10 am.
