Jason Ehlen returns for Day 2 with the chip lead

Six starting flights for Event 1 were locked down last night and the opening event of the 2017 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown created a massive field. The tournament drew 3,107 entries to push the $500,000 guaranteed prize pool over $900,000 and 605 players are still around with a chance for some of that money.

Jason Ehlen bagged up an impressive 346,500 Saturday evening and he carries the chip lead into the restart today with former SHRP Champion Victor Figueroa also sitting in the top ten. Other notables returning include Seminole Hard Rock Tampa ambassador Wally Maddah, Ryan Dunn, Rafael Reis, former WSOP Ladies event champs Marsha Wolak and Jacquelyn Scott along with Seminole Hard Rock Poker team members Darryll Fish,  Mukul Pahuja, Jessica Dawley, Michael Laake, and Stewart Newman.

Event 1 will now switch over to 40-minute levels and they will have plenty of room to make their moves. But we will see a burst of activity at the beginning as short stacks try to make a move up the counts. With 300 players earning a piece of the prize pool, we expect the money bubble to hit between the first two breaks of the day.

Cards are set to fly at 1pm and we’ll be here from start to finish tracking the action.
