Event 1: Poker Lesson – Always Stand Up When All In

$100 + $25 No Limit Hold’Em Deep Stack

Blinds 10K/20K Ante 2K

It never fails. Go all in, get called, stand up, hit your card to survive. Well, almost never fails – if it worked every time there would never be the need for chairs at a poker table. An older gentleman recently used this trick to much success when he moved all in with pocket 5’s and was called by the big blind who had A-9. The flop came with a 5 causing the big blind to throw his hands up in disgust as if he had just been delivered a bad beat. The turn gave the big blind a gutshot straight draw prompting him to ask the dealer to give him his four outer. The river paired the board though and the short stack sat back down. At least he didn’t use his “one time” yet.
