The field lost one player at the start of Level 17, and then shortly after that there was a three-way all-in situation at Table 1 with pocket kings as the big stack against pocket tens and pocket eights.

Gregory Pessine had the eights, and he was all in for just 8,000 in chips — just a bit more than a single big blind.

If the pocket kings held up, the Money Bubble would be burst before hand-for-hand play could even begin.

The board came , and Pessine spiked an eight on the river to win the main pot and triple up to 40,000 in chips (technically he quintupled his stack).

But one of those hands in progress had a player all in from the hijack for 56,000 against Mohammed Ayyash, and the short stack in the big blind tanked for a while before folding.

The player in the hijack turned over , but was dominated by the Ayyash’s .

The board came , and Ayyash won the pot with two pair to eliminate his opponent and burst the Money Bubble before hand-for-hand play could even begin.
