After more than thirteen hours of play Mark Dube a local professional poker player, took down the Event 11 $570 Six-Max NLH (Single Re-Entry) title. Event 6 boasted a field of 231 entries,  crushing the $50,000 guarantee. Dube took home the biggest piece of the $115,500 prize pool with his first place finish. He earned $25,120 for his victory as well as the prestigious Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open trophy.

Dube considers Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino his home casino. This is his first victory on property though he came close in 2015 when he got heads up against Brian Altman in the WPT Lucky Hearts event.

The one day event played fast and furious to make it into the money when Keith Saunders was eliminated by Roberto Berrocal in a double elimination on the bubble. Jason Young, who was chip leader at the time held the chip lead for most of the day.

The lead would switch back and forth between Young and Michael “the Grinder” Mizrachi as they took turns eliminating players as the field quickly played down.

It was Mizrachi who held the lead with the final eight players remaining. Then a big double from Dewey Raines when his pocket kings held against Mizrachi’s Ace King put Raines in the lead. Raines then knocked out Uri Kadosh in 8th place ($3,360) to set the final table.

Seat 3: Brock Wilson – 465,000
Seat 4: Manuel Suarez – 284,000
Seat 5: Michael Mizrachi – 659,000

Seat 7: Jason Young – 505,000

Mark Dube sat in the middle of the pack to start the final table. Jason Young took out Kharlin Sued in 7th place ($3,360) when his king high held against Sued’s queen high. Young then won a coin flip with pocket nines against Manuel Suarez’s Ace King to send him to the rail in 6th place ($4,465).

Dube then doubled through Young to put him a top the counts. Young got the chips right back when he knocked Michael Mizrachi out in 5th place ($6,055). Brock Wilson, the eventual runner up, got in on the action when he won a big pot off Young. It was around that time that the four stacks were close to even. By break they had spread out slightly:

Dewey Raines – 956,000
Mark Dube – 900,000
Jason Young – 560,000

Four handed action lasted for around two hours with many doubles ups and lead changes until Jason Young was eventually eliminated by Mark Dube. Shortly after, Dewey Raines was eventually eliminated by Brock Wilson in third place ($11,850).

Heads up started with Dube having a slight chip lead over Wilson, it didn’t take long to extend it to around 3-1 lead. On the final hand Dube got it in with his dominating Wilson’s . He wound up with a pair of tens to make it official as Wilson was eliminated in second place and Dube became the Event 11 champion.

The day went great for Dube “I ran really well, especially early on and throughout the tournament I hit a ton of sets. It went better than I could have asked for. Most hands went my way.”
