Hyon Kim

Hyon Kim opened the button to 18,000, and Josias Santos called in the small blind.

The flop was Qc4h2s. Santos checked, Kim continued for 22,000, and Santos check-raised to 50,000. Kim called the remainder, and they both checked through the 4c turn. The river was the 7s, and Santos moved all in for about 130,000 effective. Kim called all in for that amount, putting himself at risk.

Santos showed AsQh for queens up with an ace, and Kim’s reaction made it clear that he couldn’t beat it. The latter tabled his inferior QsTs as he headed to the payout desk in fifth place.

After earning Kim’s bounty, Santos is now the chip leader for the first time at this final table.

Josias Santos – 735,000 (92 bb)
Hyon Kim – Eliminated in 5th place ($6,811)
