A tight finish for five players led a decision to call it off and Charlemagne Benjamin emerged as the champion of Event 15.

It was certainly not as easy as Benjamin made it out to be at the end but he was able to ride a huge hand where he hit quads on the river to crack a full house pushing him to the top of the leaderboard and was able to finish off the victory.  And after the agreement had been made, Benjamin was incredibly excited about the win.

“It was great.  I pulled a little razzle-dazzle and it was pretty easy from that point.  After the hand with the quads I knew I was going to win.  The kid (Tyler Thren) was good but I held him off.”

Benjamin ended up being part of a five-way deal with Tyler Thren, Matt Friendly, Joe Ebelhar and Santana Noronha.  After some interesting discussions about the trophy, the five players walked away satisifed having battled their way through a 228 person field.

“There was no sense to keep playing and the chop value was decent.  I’ve won before but this is my first trophy.”  And Benjamin may have had the most interesting plans to celebrate his win.  “I’m not sure if I’m playing the main tomorrow but I know I’m going to the strip club tonight.”

To each his own but he can do whatever he wants because tonight was his night.

Congratulations to our Event 15 Champion – Charlemagne Benjamin!
