Tournament staff sent the $2,200 field on a staggered break, half going early and half on time, to limit the number of people in the halls along with the massive WPT LHPO Championship satellite crowd.

While they were gone, Event 16 officially became the biggest one-time $2K event in our history with a lot of time to run it up.

The Championship kicks off tomorrow and that means we’re seeing some big players for the first time including three-time WPT champ Eric Afriat. We mentioned Brian Altman earlier as the first player to win the same WPT Event twice, well Afriat had a chance for that feat earlier. He captured the WPT Poker Showdown title in 2014 and finished one spot away from that title again in 2019.
