The $200,000 guarantee is far in the rearview mirror and the Event 16 prize pool climbed over $300,000 well before the first break. With a steady diet of new entrants and three hours of registration remaining, it’s likely this will become the biggest one-day $2,200 tournament in our history.

The current record stands at 226 entries for the $2,200 Eight-Handed NLH during the 2017 Poker Showdown. That tournament was captured by 2015 WSOP Main Event champ Joe McKeehen. He is back in today’s field and another win would be a nice way to head into Championship weekend.
