Jean Gaspard opened to 2,500 under the gun, and Jerry Wong three-bet to 8,000 in middle position. Gaspard four-bet shoved with his big stack, and Wong called all in for 79,900 to put himself at risk.

The table reacted in unison as the flop came to give Gaspard two pair. Nick Palma was unconvinced, though. “It’s your year,” he said to Wong. “I can see it coming.”
Sure enough, the peeled off on the turn, giving Wong a big lead with a set of queens. The river was the blank to secure his double up. He moved into the chip lead with that pot, erasing most of Gaspard’s early work in the process.
