With 75 players remaining in the field, but no more than 74 advancing, the tournament staff announced that dealers should finish the hand in progress and then come to a stop.

In one of those hands, the player in the small blind was all in for roughly 10,000 with 8c3c, and he needed to improve to stay alive against the KdKc of Mario De La Puente in the hijack.

The board came As10c5dAcKs, and the small blind turned a club flush draw, but De La Puente rivered a full house, kings full of aces, to win the pot and eliminate his opponent to burst the Money Bubble.

Ironically, De La Puente was the unfortunate player eliminated on the Money Bubble in yesterday’s morning flight, so there’s a bit of redemption for him as he scores the knockout and bags a nice stack for Day 2 today.

While this was happening, there was another elimination at one of the other tables, leaving 73 players to bag chips for Day 2, where everyone will be in the money. (Players had to bag chips for Day 2 to finish in the money.)
